District Joint Office (Collectorate)

 

The District Joint Office (Collectorate) is situated on the Jai Stambh Crossing and started functioning from 1993. In addition to the Office of the Collector, Offices of Mining, Food, Agriculture, Excise, Land Records, and Small Savings are situated here. The office of the Superintendent of Police is also situated in the same Campus.With lush green forests, natural wealth of Coal, Minerals and with primitive tribal population, the district Shahdol is situated in the ranges of Vindhyachal and heading fast on the development track. The district has vast reserves of Coal mines and has a paper manufacturing industry (Orient Paper Mills).

Government Mining Polytechnic
 

This Polytechnic was founded by Pt. Shambhu Nath Shukla, the then Forest and PWD Minister of Madhya Pradesh in 1960. This college is situated in Pandav Nagar. At present the following Engineering Courses are run by this institution :-

(c) Civil Engineering
(d) Mechanical Engineering
(e) Electrical Engineering

Pt. Shambhu Nath Shukla Governmentl Autonomous PG College, Shahdol
 

Pt. Shambhu Nath Shukla Govt. Autonomous PG College, Shahdol is situated on the western bank of Murna River. The college has a grand building and there are a number of green trees and plants in the campus. Science faculty, Arts faculty, Library, Administrative office, and Sports & NCC offices are situated in separate blocks of the grand building. This college is recognised as the leading college of Shahdol District by Madhya Pradesh Government.

At present, the facility of doing Post Graduation in 14 subjects of science, arts and commerce facilities is available in the college. Besides this, 10 departments of this college are recognised as Research Centres by A.P.S. University Rewa. Students from the adjoining districts of Umaria, Korea, Bilaspur and Mandla come here to do Post Graduation and Ph.D. There are two units of NSS and one unit of NCC in the college. The students are conisistently encouraged to participate in cultural and literary activities.

Bhoj University Bhopal has recognised this college as centre for teaching communicative English. Students from Umaria and different parts of Shahdol district attend the classes to improve communicative English.

Manas Bhawan
Nagarpalika Shahdol has got constructed a beautiful building named Manas Bhawan for Cultural and Social programmes. Manas Bhawan was inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Digvijay Singh on June 30, 1999.

Rajeev Gandhi Bus Stand

Rajeev Gandhi Bus Stand was inaugrated on 30th Jan, 1999 by the Honourable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Digvijay Singh. This Bus Stand is constructed in an area of 2.5 Hect. and the total construction cost was Rs. 70,00000  approximately. Here 32 buses can be parked at a time. There are many shops in the Shopping Complex and one Waiting Hall.

District Hospital

District Hospital is situated near Collectorate. There is the facility of 202 beds. There are 07 specailists and 21 Assistant Surgeons working in this hospital. There is the facility of Children ward, Women ward, Medical ward, Surgical ward, Intensive Care Unit, TB and ENT ward available in this hospital. Besides these, 14 rooms including 4 AC rooms are available in the private ward.
